Diego is a very talented product manager who is responsible for some of Venmo and Xoom product functionalities. He has been consistently winning awards for his excellence and is recognized as a top performer in the company. Diego has a strategic mindset and approaches problems such that they are addressed in the short-term and have long-term scalable and optimized approaches. One example for me was how he approached data analysis for the products in the portfolio. He not only optimized the short-term solution but also created a scalable approach to addressing this in the future. Diego demonstrated excellent leadership skills by leading the experimentation of the decision-making framework for a large organization at PayPal and by mentoring and coaching product managers within my team and outside the company.

I worked with Diego at Braintree/PayPal on integrating a payment dispute flow from another provider into Braintree's platform. Diego was my Product partner in delivering a solution to bring Venmo disputes functionality into PayPal Braintree. Diego was a critical member working across engineering, project management, sales, support, and more. He even facilitated conversations with our clients to ensure their needs were met and questions were answered in a timely manner. Part of what makes Diego special is his high level of empathy for everyone he works with.
